The second founding principle of Alpha Sigma Chi fraternity is individuality. In order for membership to be meaningful, prestigious, and attractive, the fraternity must be comprised of individuals willing to invest their efforts and talents in order to create a mutually rewarding experience that benefits all members of the fraternity. This principle ensures that membership in Alpha Sigma Chi enriches the lives of members both professionally and socially while fostering in each individual the desire to achieve personal excellence. The credibility of Alpha Sigma Chi is dependent on the credibility of the individual members. The credence of the fraternity is therefore of paramount concern to the individual members with regard to their inter- and extra-fraternal relations.

The third founding principle of Alpha Sigma Chi fraternity is professionalism. Alpha Sigma Chi fraternity is exclusive to men who have achieved or are pursing a university degree in intelligence or national security studies or have a degree in another field but are professionals in the intelligence or national security communities. In the Socratic tradition, the pride and common bond of the fraternity resides within these disciplines. Professionalism regards a contrite abstinence from posturing: the subjects of intimacy, politics, and spirituality are therefore moot as a matter of mutual respect and fraternal maturity.

The prestige of Alpha Sigma Chi extends from the individual member's achievements and willingness to stand united in solidarity to enable one another and the national security community toward the pursuit of excellence.
